It's That Time Again

Well Mountaineer fans, it's about that time. Three words I've been waiting to say for a long time: Football. Is. Back. Football is more than a game in the high country; it's a religion. Football means more than just hanging out with friends, tailgating and screaming at grown men dressed in zebra outfits because you didn't like a call. In Boone, NC it's a tradition of excellence. It's a tradition that helped the Mountaineers win 10 conference championships and three national championships in the past 25 years. This tradition will continue tomorrow as the Mountaineers take on the Howard Bison at Kidd Brewer Stadium, and start the quest for their first Sun Belt championship.

After a roller coaster season last year, there is a lot to be optimistic about coming into 2015. After a disappointing 1-5 start to last year's season, the Mountaineers managed to win their final 6 games and finish with a winning record in their first Sun Belt season. Despite last year's less-than-stellar start, the Mountaineers gained momentum as the season progressed, and will most definitely bring that momentum with them into this season. On top of the team's strong finish, they are returning all but two starters, making them the most experienced team in the nation. This experience plus a good bit of young talent withh surely be a recipe for success. All in all, I believe this season has potential to be a GREAT one. But let's not get ahead of ourselves; it all starts tomorrow against the Bison of Howard University. I will see you all at The Rock tomorrow at 3:30. And, as always, Give 'Em Hell!

Official Jordan Tate Prediction: App State 42, Howard 14
