Non-conference football is over, and it's finally time for Sun Belt play. App State has won six straight Sun Belt games dating back to last season. The first conference test will take place Saturday in the Georgia Dome against the Panthers fof Georgia State. The Mountaineers defeated the Panthers last season in Boone 44-0 in the snow.

The Mountaineers are coming off of a 31-13 victory over Mountain West team Wyoming. We got our canoes and paddles out and made it to The Rock for the game. After last week's win, App State has wins over Conference USA and Mountain West, two peer G5 conferences. This is a great way to get our name out there as a legtimate contender in FBS football.

The Mountaineers looked good in all three phases of the game on Saturday. App State took a 14-0 led over the Cowboys in the first four minutes of the game from touchdowns by Marcus Cox (59-yard run) and Latrell Gibbs (91-yard interception return.) Despite the quick start, Wyoming dominated much of the first half while having the ball for 20+ minutes. Perhaps the biggest play of the game was a fake field goal ran by Bentlee Critcher and Zach Matics for a 6-yard run, and the first down with less than 30 seconds left in the first half. On the next play, QB Taylor Lamb dropped a dime to Simms Mcelfresh in the corner of the endzone to give the Mountaineers a 21-7 halftime advantage.

Despite domination in many statistical categories by the Cowboys, the Mountaineers went on to win the game 31-13, improving to 3-1 on the season. The Mountaineers now have won won 9 of their last 10 games dating back to last season. The Apps are now set to take on the Georgia State Panthers in Atlanta Saturday. The Panthers, who are a pretty new team in college football, have experienced their fair share of struggles over the years. The Panthers are 1-3 so far on the season, including a couple of losses to some pretty inferior competition. Simply said: the Mountaineers should not have too much trouble in this game. App outmatches GaSt in pretty much every aspect of the game. Coming into the game, the Mountaineers are a 16-point favorite. I say we win by much more. As always, Go Apps and Give 'em Hell!

Official Jordan Tate Prediction: App 35, GaSt 7.
